Reading Tips

Here are some tips on how to have a good reading. They're by no means definitive but they should provide you with some
helpful guidelines. The vast majority of people who work in this field are sincere, but there are those who aren't; something
that annoys us far more than it will ever annoy you. I hope these guidelines will help you to tell the difference between
someone who doesn't know what they're doing and a genuine spiritual worker, but remember (as with any type of work) anyone
can have a bad day!
A successful contact with the Spirit World is a three-way endeavour. The Spirit Communicator(s), the Medium, and you. That
doesn't mean that you have to give information, you most definitely shouldn't do that. However, if you're uncooperative you
will find that things won't go too well. Being cooperative doesn't mean giving information, it means keeping an open mind
and waiting to see what happens.
Like us, Spirit communicators vary in their abilities. If the Spirit Communicator and the Medium are not on the same
wavelength communication will be difficult and maybe impossible.
A true Medium won't be afraid to tell you when a reading isn't working for them, but if you feel it isn't working you
shouldn't be afraid to say so.
A forename, contact number and address - if the Medium is travelling to see you - is sufficient information to set up
a reading. If you're asked for much more than that don't tell them.
As a client you shouldn't tell the Medium anything before or during the Reading.
A Medium will be as unsettled as anyone in the face of open hostility. We rely on clear minds to receive communication
and nothing will block us as successfully as an unpleasant atmosphere. It may sound like an excuse to you but it's true!
Be open minded and happy to be amazed.
Say yes if the information is correct and no if it isn't. If you're not sure ask for clarification.
A grunt or "mmm" could mean yes or no and if you aren't clear the Medium will drop the link and move on.
Be open minded and ready to hear from anyone you know, don't miss a message because the initial communicator isn't who
you expected (they may be with them, waiting).
In a good reading there should be one or two things that you don't know and have to check later, this is the best evidence
because if you didn't know then the information can only have come from the Spirit World.
When you're attending a public demonstration please don't sit in your seat and nod or shake your head. It makes it more
interesting for those who don't get a message if you let them know when the Medium is right and wrong.
Mediums shouldn't ask questions but that goes against human nature. So, if we occasionally forget ourselves and ask something
like "who has your aunt's sapphire and diamond eternity ring with the three missing stones?" forgive us and recognise
that we do know that a ring of that description exists.
However, if a Medium constantly asks questions such as "do you have a father in the Spirit World?" and when
you say "yes" they reply with "because I have your father here", leave!
